SP: Nailz Haus

My visit to Nailz Haus @ IMM

Was very pleased to be able to work with Nailz Haus which is a rather popular nail parlour in the west. I have a few aunts who are regular customers there and I've heard many good reviews about them so far!

Really comfy interior.

Did sculpture extensions + gel pedi this trip.

Decided to go full bling for my nails. It has always been my dream to have really exaggerating Jap style nails cuz I LOVE IT so I told Elaine my manicurist to just go all out. Hahaha.

Here's them having fun blinging out my nails... Hahaha it was so fun to watch. It was like we were having a party lol!

Sat there for 4 hours because.. Ya. Vanity. But thank god for the comfy chairs cuz my butt didn't hurt. Plus the manicurists were all so friendly and accommodating!

The end product.... Purple/white marble with gold sparkles & lotsa blings~

SO SATISFYING TO LOOK AT!! Elaine was super satisfied with her work and I definitely have gotta say that her nail sculpturing skills are real mad. So yay! Happy us.

Thank you Nailz haus for such a pleasant first experience :)

SP: Garnier Micellar Water

There has been a lot of hype on the internet about Garnier's newly launched Micellar Water recently (go google the reviews!), so I thought I would do my own reviews on their Micellar Waters and a few about-to-launch products that the Garner team sent me!

Just a bit of background information if you don’t know what Micellar is – it is an all-in-1 makeup remover + cleanser that removes makeup, but is super hydrating and caring for your skin. Best part – it doubles up as a cleanser, so you don’t have to double cleanse your skin with a face cleanser, which might over dry your skin.

I used Micellar occasionally in the past, but the reason why I don’t use it often is because it does not remove waterproof mascara easily. That being said, you have to try Garnier's Biphase Micellar (the blue version)! Not only is it able to get rid of waterproof mascara, it makes my skin feel really soft and hydrated after using it! It contains no oil, fragrance & alcohol, hence unlike the usual lip-and-eye makeup removers, it does not feel oily at all. Also, it's made in the U.S. and SG is the first country in Asia to fly this in! Lucky us!

Garnier Micellar has 2 variants:
o Blue Biphase Micellar which removes even waterproof mascara – great for events and nights where I put heavier makeup
o Pink Micellar which removes lighter makeup – so I use this to remove my day to day makeup which is typically just my foundation, lipstick, and light eye makeup

How does the Blue Biphase Micellar Water work? If you notice, there are actually 2 layers in in the bottle. The first layer is the cleansing layer (which unlike normal lip-and-eye makeup removers, is not oil), and this gets rid of stronger eye makeup like waterproof mascara. The second layer is the micellar layer which hydrates, cleanses and soothes your skin. This is why the Micellar Water is non-rinse! Meaning even after using it to remove your make up, you can just leave it as it is because it works as a cleanser as well. It feels really hydrating afterwards!

I compared it with Brand X so I can better show you the efficacy of Garnier's Micellar Water. For Brand X, I'm using a traditional oil-based Lip and Eye makeup remover.

This is before removing my eye make up with eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner.

So what I did was to test how much makeup I can remove in 1 swipe of the cotton pad. Apparently, the best way to use Garnier Micellar Water is to hold the cotton pad on the eye area for around 2-3 seconds before swiping the makeup away. The results were amazing!

For Brand X, as expected, it removes the makeup relatively well. But the amazing thing is that for Garnier, it’s oil free but works just as well, or if not even better than an oil based remover?! Not even exaggerating..

Keep in mind this is only in  one swipe! Look how much make up Garnier's Micellar Water has already removed. I had to tug a lil harder for Brand X while I only had to leave the cotton pad on my eye for Garnier and it already did the job. Also, Garnier Micellar Water didn’t sting my eyes, but usual lip-and-eye removers sting my eyes slightly.

Now I really get the hype of the micellar water which everyone has been talking about.

After removing the make up on one eye..

It may look like I still have make up on because I have eyelash extensions but all the rest of the make up residues are completely removed.

I love how Garnier Micellar Water is so gentle and soothing on the skin. After using it, my skin feels so clean and hydrated! Plus, it leaves no residue behind so I don’t feel the need to cleanse my skin a second time! Now I can finally see for myself what makes this product so amazing.

On days where I have lighter make up on like BB cream or sunscreen, I use the pink version which is good enough for cleansing my skin. Even on days where I am completely bare faced, I do use the pink version to cleanse my face of all the dust collected on my face cuz it works like a toner! I even hear of people who actually use micellar water as a mask to hydrate their skin. It's like multi purpose..

The  blue version  sells at $19.90 (but there is a 20% off intro price now; $15.90) for a super big bottle of 400ml (that’s less than half price vs the derma brands!), and is available at Watsons, Guardian and major super/hypermarts from mid-June onwards.*

As for the  Pink version, it sells at $17.90 (20% off intro price now; $14.30), available exclusively at Guardian till Sep 2016, before it is available nationwide at Watsons, Guardian and major super/hypermarts.*

Right now, Garnier Micellar Water is only available at Guardian, so if you’d like to try it out before it’s available island wide, head to Guardian NOW!

For the price you're paying, I would say it's totally worth it!

Other than Micellar, Garnier is also bringing in a whole set of cleansers and wipes that is tailor made for every skin type, directly flown in from the USA!

o Green Cleanser + Wipes: Jojoba + peppermint – for normal skin

o Black Cleanser + Wipes: Charcoal – for oily skin

o Orange Cleanser: Pomegranate + grapefruit – for combination skin
o Light Blue Wipes: Calming plant extracts – for sensitive skin

Skin feels so well cleansed thanks to Garnier!
