KOREA; DAY 1

1/4/13

This year.... I decided to visit Korea

Thank god for a super supportive aunt, I was able to make all the plans and bookings almost immediately. I initially wanted to only visit Seoul on my own but my aunt wanted to see Jeju, so we decided to go to Korea together on a tour! We followed the Chan Brothers :)

Our first few stops were all sightseeing places for us to take lotsa pictures

This was apparently the palace where their king was living! We were only able to take a picture from a road across.. There was even a line on the floor to indicate that we were only able to stand THIS near. The person on the left in the picture was actually an official...

NEXT STOP:
Chang Deok Gung Palace.

This was where they filmed the drama Secret Garden!

I forgot my gloves and my poor hands were totally in pain and itching like crazy

LUNCH TIME!

We had dinner at a restaurant in Dong Dae Mun where they served steamboat

DSC01157DSC01159DSC01160

Honest comments?
I didn't really like their steamboat.. It was a bit too tasteless for my liking? Was expected something more flavourful! But that's their culture... They eat really healthily! Explains all their flawless skin!

NEXT STOP:
Dong Dae Mun Market!

It was really huge.... And we had SOOOO much to shop for but there just wasn't enough time :( It's a pity we didn't get to stay a night here because the all the shops only closes at 4 freaking AM! Shopping paradise..

Here we are at a building called ''Hello APM''
A very famous shopping mall in Dong Dae Mun!

There were SO MUCH CLOTHES! But only a handful suitable for SG's weather :( Mainly because it was the winter season so I didn't really get to buy a lot. However, the prices here are really reasonable! It's like FEP in SG.

SUPER YUMS WALNUT RED BEAN CAKE. My favorite snack for the whole trip

NEXT STOP:
Kim chi making!

Something you should definitely not miss when you're in Korea... Kimchi is everywhere.

DSC01171DSC01175

Basically it's just lettuce wrapped in a lot of chilli sauce etc

DSC01176

We were also allowed to wear korean traditional costumes after making kimchi

On our way to dinner... I snapped a picture of a korean couple on the streets. Was telling my aunt how drama this looked. Hahaha

DINNER TIME!!

For dinner, we had korean ''Ba Kut Teh''

It was rather yummy! Not much of a difference to SG's Ba Kut Teh.

And that was the end of our 1st day! Back to the hotel for a good rest
